A collision led to Cordona getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Mariano Marko hit a great ball. When Gustavo Demesio came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Potrerillos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo Demesio couldn't finish the play. Tadeo Abalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingo Ostadar in the 12th minute of play. Tadeo Abalos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Ostadar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cordona's Horacio Rexino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Demesio in the 20th minute of play. When Braulio Berto fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cordona's protests and gave Braulio Berto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd minute Gustavo Demesio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horacio Rexino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 played minutes, Cordona's Alvaro Francho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tadeo Abalos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cordona reached it. After having played for 30 minutes, Domingo Ostadar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cordona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingo Ostadar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tadeo Abalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Braulio Berto in the 32nd minute of play. Cordona's Domingo Ostadar got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute of the match Justino Louis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Horacio Rexino showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Cordeiro in the 40th minute of play forced Potrerillos FC's goalkeeper Tadeo Abalos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tadeo Abalos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Ostadar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Domingo Ostadar in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tadeo Abalos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Domingo Ostadar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeo Abalos having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustavo Demesio to make the kick off. Jaime Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tadeo Abalos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Ostadar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Horacio Rexino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Demesio in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, Cordona's Jaime Cordeiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tadeo Abalos. Tadeo Abalos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Narciso Quilino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horacio Rexino having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Cordona's Domingo Ostadar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tadeo Abalos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Narciso Quilino came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Potrerillos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Narciso Quilino couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Domingo Ostadar in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tadeo Abalos saved Potrerillos FC from getting behind. 87 minutes into the match, Potrerillos FC's goalkeeper Tadeo Abalos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Cordeiro. Braulio Berto's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tadeo Abalos firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cordona's Jaime Cordeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 98th minute the ball was on its way in behind Potrerillos FC's goalkeeper Tadeo Abalos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
