The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ildefonso Errapel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Francesco having to interfere. Pedro Gutierrez in the 14thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gerardo Celio, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of Tipán booed when PatquíaViejo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albano Tajo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Tipán's Gerardo Urtungo tried to score from far away in the 17th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Pedro Gutierrez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tipán's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Gutierrez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerardo Celio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Gutierrez who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Gerardo Celio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Ildefonso Errapel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Camilo Francesco was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. With an all-out effort, Tipán's Gerardo Celio threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Victoriano Sesuldo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ildefonso Errapel in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Camilo Francesco saved Tipán from getting behind. Gerardo Celio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedro Gutierrez went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Tipán's Pedro Gutierrez got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Pedro Gutierrez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerardo Celio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victoriano Sesuldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee gave PatquíaViejo FC a penalty, 50 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Isaac Domiku, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tipán's Camilo Francesco. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
The wind increased when Victoriano Sesuldo made the kick off in the second half. Abelardo Abadie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Gerardo Celio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, PatquíaViejo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Victoriano Sesuldo came free, but Gerardo Celio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65thth minute of the game Victoriano Sesuldo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PatquíaViejo FC's Gerardo Celio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Victoriano Sesuldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Celio having to interfere. When Pedro Gutierrez came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Tipán fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Gutierrez couldn't finish the play. In the 71st minute Victoriano Sesuldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerardo Celio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 72ndth minute of the game Victoriano Sesuldo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PatquíaViejo FC's Gerardo Celio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gerardo Celio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victoriano Sesuldo in the 74th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in PatquíaViejo FC's zone, Pedro Gutierrez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerardo Celio came out of the goal and Pedro Gutierrez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ermegildo Rito kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. If Pedro Gutierrez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Firme took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gerardo Celio. Gerardo Celio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. When Tipán's Victoriano Sesuldo in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PatquíaViejo FC's goalie prevented a goal. 88 minutes into the game, Eusebio Elizardo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PatquíaViejo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tipán the free kick. A collision led to PatquíaViejo FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Eusebio Elizardo hit a great ball. Gerardo Celio came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Tipán's Victoriano Sesuldo. But to his dismay, Victoriano Sesuldo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. A collision led to PatquíaViejo FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Ildefonso Errapel hit a great ball. When Tipán's Pedro Gutierrez in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PatquíaViejo FC's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the PatquíaViejo FC defense, Victoriano Sesuldo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerardo Celio. The PatquíaViejo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerardo Celio should have stopped the shot.
