Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mario Tiniebra started the match with the kick off. Caraguatay's Melchor Osoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Tiniebra in the 13th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zeledon Lauro in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victorio Tano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 26th minute Damian Firmin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorio Tano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zeledon Lauro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute, Mario Tiniebra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 34th minute, Luisito Lluques got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mario Tiniebra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Caraguatay's Damian Firmin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Victorio Tano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Polvaredas's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Firmin came free, but Victorio Tano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 48 minutes of play, Caraguatay's Zeledon Lauro made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Victorio Tano was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Caraguatay were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The supporters of Caraguatay booed when Polvaredas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Maria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damian Firmin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute, Flavio Muc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Caraguatay's Victorio Tano threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Damian Firmin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Luisito Lluques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 played minutes Polvaredas got a freekick which was hit by Flavio Muc. Zeledon Lauro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Victorio Tano having to make a save. After some careless play in the Caraguatay defense, Mario Tiniebra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Melchor Osoro. The Caraguatay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Melchor Osoro should have stopped the shot. In the 80th minute, Esteban Demario hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nemesio Ranolfo hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the game, Mario Tiniebra cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Melchor Osoro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Polvaredas's zone, Zeledon Lauro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victorio Tano came out of the goal and Zeledon Lauro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Damian Firmin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caraguatay's supporters rose to their feet, but Damian Firmin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victorio Tano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Melchor Osoro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Tiniebra in the 98th minute of the match. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
