Evelio Ikatz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlético Río Luján's goalkeeper Evelio Ikatz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Atlético Río Luján getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Salvador Txomin hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the match, Atlético Río Luján's goalkeeper Evelio Ikatz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eustaquio Bihar. The audience was convinced that Eustaquio Bihar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Evelio Ikatz was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Lisandro Presebal came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Río Luján's Gabriel Batistuta. But to his dismay, Gabriel Batistuta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Cosme Pero hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Lisandro Presebal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Batistuta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hermengildo Ofelio during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hermengildo Ofelio kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eustaquio Bihar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Atlético Río Luján's Evelio Ikatz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eustaquio Bihar in the 51st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Atlético Río Luján's Salvador Txomin got a free kick in the 54th minute. A collision led to Obanta getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Cipriano Marcones hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eustaquio Bihar in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evelio Ikatz saved Atlético Río Luján from getting behind. In the 84th minute Gabriel Batistuta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lisandro Presebal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Obanta getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Cipriano Marcones hit a great ball. Javier Demario was extremely unlucky when he, in the 89th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. A collision led to Obanta getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Hermengildo Ofelio hit a great ball. In the 96th minute Gabriel Batistuta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lisandro Presebal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Obanta fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Atlético Río Luján were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
