An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Stephen in the 17th minute of play forced Monteverde's goalkeeper Toby Gregg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Javier Stephen struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Toby Gregg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sauzal. Ivan Salbatore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Javier Stephen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Toby Gregg came out and tried to block the shot, but Javier Stephen slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 25th minute. A collision led to Monteverde getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Anastasio Garcia hit a great ball. Monteverde's Toby Gregg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Monteverde from getting a goal against them. After having played for 33 minutes, Ivan Salbatore managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sauzal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Salbatore was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Iker Licerio hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Placido Marquez got free with Toby Gregg in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Javier Stephen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Toby Gregg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Javier Stephen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Toby Gregg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 41 minutes, Victor Garin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sauzal and the Monteverde players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 41st match minute, Sauzal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Garin to maneuver through the defense. If Mateo Chorache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Monteverde's goalkeeper Toby Gregg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The wind increased when Anastasio Garcia made the kick off in the second half. Monteverde's Toby Gregg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Placido Marquez in the 53rd minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Monteverde's goal looked a bit too open when Mateo Chorache came free, but Toby Gregg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sauzal's Placido Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Stephen in the 66th minute of play forced Monteverde's goalkeeper Toby Gregg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Monteverde's zone, Ivan Salbatore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toby Gregg came out of the goal and Ivan Salbatore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aureliano Gamus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Victor Garin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Toby Gregg. Monteverde's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Monteverde's Fabricio Aurre got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 72 minutes of play, Sauzal's Placido Marquez made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Toby Gregg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Javier Stephen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Toby Gregg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adan Tello had great luck who in the 81stth minute grab hold of the ball when Anastasio Garcia from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Placido Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Toby Gregg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Monteverde's zone, Javier Stephen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toby Gregg came out of the goal and Javier Stephen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sauzal's Hilario Erasto got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sauzal fully deserved thier win.
