The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 11 minutes into the match, Sugaritas FC's goalkeeper Dario Gallardo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benigno Cristofol. Guayquiraró AFC's Esteban Colas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Blai in the 42nd minute of play. During the 44th minute of the match Rigoberto Federigo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rigoberto Federigo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Nicanor Blai walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. The audience was convinced that Anacleto Hever's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dario Gallardo was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. The Guayquiraró AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sugaritas FC were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Nicanor Blai made the kick off in the second half. In the 92nd minute, Fabio Afonso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicanor Blai received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Esteban Colas came out and tried to block the shot, but Nicanor Blai slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 93rd minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sugaritas FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
