But to his dismay, Victoriano Tabb quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Eleuterio Abella took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Filiberto Baristo to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of C. A. Jaguares del Sur booed when Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zacarias Juvenal didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Florentino Mundo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. C. A. Jaguares del Sur's Victoriano Tabb got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute, Aristides Dimo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enzo Marin was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Generoso Chap got a free kick in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Florentino Mundo in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enzo Marin saved Independiente from getting behind. Diki Schoenmakers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filiberto Baristo having to interfere. Filiberto Baristo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Havier in the 57th minute of play. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Generoso Chap hit a great ball. Enzo Marin acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 60th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Aristides Dimo. After 63 minutes of play C. A. Jaguares del Sur's Diego Laurgain was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 63rd minute, Diego Laurgain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, C. A. Jaguares del Sur's goal looked a bit too open when Diki Schoenmakers came free, but Filiberto Baristo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Cristobal Millan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enzo Marin was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Cristobal Millan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Enzo Marin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Diki Schoenmakers made a precise shot to the right of Filiberto Baristo. C. A. Jaguares del Sur's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. Aristides Dimo struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Enzo Marin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Jaguares del Sur. Filiberto Baristo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diki Schoenmakers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
