Lino Heli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leon Ado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Felix Lucescu hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. When Lino Heli came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Atletic Club Araucaria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lino Heli couldn't finish the play. Atletic Club Araucaria's attentive Rodrigo Meléndez managed to snatch the ball when Froilan Macario made a throw-in in the 33rd minute of the game. 34 minutes into the match, Argentinos Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Heli came free, but Leon Ado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aldo Diagur lost his temper 37 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 37 minutes into the game, one of Atletic Club Araucaria:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lino Heli to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Baldomiro Gonchan during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Atletic Club Araucaria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lino Heli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Atletic Club Araucaria eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
