Yuriy Babushkin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Heli, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The supporters of Deportivo Messina booed when Atletic Club Araucaria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Meléndez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18thth minute of the game Lino Heli who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Messina's Yuriy Babushkin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 19th minute Atletic Club Araucaria were awarded a corner. Leopoldo Cesaro went to the cornerflag to take it. Leopoldo Cesaro made a great header on Atletic Club Araucaria's corner, it was just that Deportivo Messina's Yuriy Babushkin managed to reach the ball for a save. Lino Heli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yuriy Babushkin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Gayle Leto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Yuriy Babushkin. That made the score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. Gayle Leto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Yuriy Babushkin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 27th minute Domingo Jakue shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdul Majid Awat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Atletic Club Araucaria's Yuriy Babushkin threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lino Heli, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingo Jakue in the 34th minute of play forced Atletic Club Araucaria's goalkeeper Abdul Majid Awat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abdul Majid Awat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Jakue, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute, Deportivo Messina's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gayle Leto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Yuriy Babushkin made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Gayle Leto sent off a good shot on target. Atletic Club Araucaria's Abdul Majid Awat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingo Jakue in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Atletic Club Araucaria's goal looked a bit too open when Paulino Vellito came free, but Abdul Majid Awat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th match minute, Atletic Club Araucaria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Haimar to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gayle Leto in the 47th minute of play forced Deportivo Messina's goalkeeper Yuriy Babushkin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Atletic Club Araucaria made a substitution. Cirilo Raymon replaced Gayle Leto. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hector Jerardo to make the kick off. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Atletic Club Araucaria reached it. 56 minutes into the match, Deportivo Messina's goal looked a bit too open when Cirilo Raymon came free, but Yuriy Babushkin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th minute, Gabriel Bizen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 59 played minutes Deportivo Messina got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Bizen. When Deportivo Messina's Hector Jerardo in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience thought a goal was coming when Salvador Iztal got free with Abdul Majid Awat in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 75thth minute of the game Domingo Jakue who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atletic Club Araucaria's Abdul Majid Awat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alvaro Perfecto during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Messina's Alvaro Perfecto got a free kick in the 80th minute. 84 minutes into the match, Atletic Club Araucaria's goal looked a bit too open when Domingo Jakue came free, but Abdul Majid Awat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Hector Jerardo took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Abdul Majid Awat to make any attempt to save it. Domingo Jakue received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Abdul Majid Awat came out and tried to block the shot, but Domingo Jakue slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 88th minute. A collision led to Deportivo Messina getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Hector Jerardo hit a great ball. Yuriy Babushkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cirilo Raymon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Deportivo Messina's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
