The referee ignored Platense's protests and gave Humberto Cayo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th minute, Humberto Cayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Levanto Pinto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfred Hitchcock in the 18th minute. Eusebio Ferrans short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Levanto Pinto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Motor Alma y Sangre's Silvio Jax played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikos Papadamou in the 28th minute of play. Raul Domeka hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. If Eusebio Ferran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Platense's Levanto Pinto got control of the ball when Ildefonso Quinton tried to sneak it across the goal line.

A collision led to Platense getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Christian Esiquio hit a great ball.
