Leones Libertarios's Carter Cardella played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ovando Castan in the 4th minute of play. In the 8th minute of the match Los Diablos Piquenses got a corner. Leones Libertarios's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jimeno Abajas ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Leones Libertarios getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Miguel Sariego hit a great ball. With his leg Carter Cardella managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when Los Diablos Piquenses's Ovando Castan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Ovando Castan came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Los Diablos Piquenses fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ovando Castan couldn't finish the play. Ezequiel Zeballos struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Carter Cardella didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Diablos Piquenses. If Ovando Castan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeo Esiquio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leones Libertarios's Christian Rubio got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rigoberto Janpier during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Los Diablos Piquenses booed when Leones Libertarios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Janpier didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute, Jimeno Abajas sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Leones Libertarios's Carter Cardella didn't even have to move. The supporters of Los Diablos Piquenses booed when Leones Libertarios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeo Esiquio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Leones Libertarios's zone, Ovando Castan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carter Cardella came out of the goal and Ovando Castan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ovando Castan to make the kick off. Bert Moquin was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 52nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Amadeo Esiquio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Ovando Castan sped through Leones Libertarios's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carter Cardella. Los Diablos Piquenses's Ovando Castan got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 70 minutes into the match, Ovando Castan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carter Cardella. Leones Libertarios's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ovando Castan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 75th minute, Roch Lesiecki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evelio Gai charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evelio Gai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Miguel Sariego managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leones Libertarios's supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Sariego was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severiano Quinteros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carter Cardella made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ovando Castan in the 81st minute of play. After 82 minutes of play Los Diablos Piquenses's Evelio Gai was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Los Diablos Piquenses getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Evelio Gai hit a great ball. Leones Libertarios's Bert Moquin shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 83rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Severiano Quinteros but with some difficulty. 87 minutes into the match, Los Diablos Piquenses's Matúš Tomeček sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carter Cardella narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Los Diablos Piquenses fans cheered their team off the field, for while Leones Libertarios had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
