Brimar Pálmarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Friðleifur Sæmundsson having to interfere. Friðleifur Sæmundsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arthúr Hreiðarsson's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Steinmar Reynisson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Höður Ketilsson made a huge save. 45 minutes into the game, Kristbjörn Gretarsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ensku Hnífarnir's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vakt Vogum the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arthúr Hreiðarsson in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Friðleifur Sæmundsson saved Ensku Hnífarnir from getting behind. In the 48th minute, Brimar Pálmarsson made a precise shot to the right of Friðleifur Sæmundsson. Ensku Hnífarnir's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The wind increased when Steinmar Reynisson made the kick off in the second half. When Brimar Pálmarsson came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Vakt Vogum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brimar Pálmarsson couldn't finish the play. Sigurmann Erlendsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Friðleifur Sæmundsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ensku Hnífarnir's Friðleifur Sæmundsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Ensku Hnífarnir from getting a goal against them. Steinmar Reynisson took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Höður Ketilsson. Höður Ketilsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Vakt Vogum's Höður Ketilsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ástbjörn Ottósson in the 79th minute of play. Kristbjörn Gretarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Höður Ketilsson having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arthúr Hreiðarsson got free with Friðleifur Sæmundsson in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steinmar Reynisson in the 94th minute of play forced Vakt Vogum's goalkeeper Höður Ketilsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th match minute, Ensku Hnífarnir was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ares Eilífsson to maneuver through the defense. The Ensku Hnífarnir fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Vakt Vogum were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
