The supporters of Mark Suðureyri booed when Máni Mjóifirði was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfreð Ingimarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute of the match Sigríkur Hafþórsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bekan Halsson skillfully saved the ball. In the 28thth minute of the game Alfreð Ingimarsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mark Suðureyri's Brynsteinn Finnbogason was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 29 minutes into the game, Hildibergur Styrmisson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mark Suðureyri's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Máni Mjóifirði the free kick. In the 29th minute, Hildibergur Styrmisson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ástþór Víkingsson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Brynsteinn Finnbogason came out and tried to block the shot, but Ástþór Víkingsson slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 36th minute. Guðfinnur Böðvarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Bekan Halsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ástþór Víkingsson to make the kick off. Mark Suðureyri's Brynsteinn Finnbogason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfreð Ingimarsson in the 56th minute of play. In the 61st minute Röðull Sólbergsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bekan Halsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute Mark Suðureyri were awarded a corner. Sigríkur Hafþórsson went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Mark Suðureyri's corner Sigríkur Hafþórsson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bekan Halsson quite easily take care of the ball. Bekan Halsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guðfinnur Böðvarsson in the 65th minute. Sveinjón Darrason sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute Ástþór Víkingsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brynsteinn Finnbogason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sæbjörn Njarðarson hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Mark Suðureyri's zone, Ástþór Víkingsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brynsteinn Finnbogason came out of the goal and Ástþór Víkingsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ástþór Víkingsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Brynsteinn Finnbogason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Máni Mjóifirði booed when Mark Suðureyri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaj Sigdórsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brynsteinn Finnbogason stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sveinjón Darrason's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Máni Mjóifirði's Bekan Halsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Röðull Sólbergsson in the 82nd minute of play. A hard shot by Ríkarður Arnbergsson from long distance, 84 minutes into the match, got Bekan Halsson's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 85 minutes of play Máni Mjóifirði's Alfreð Ingimarsson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Alfreð Ingimarsson kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. In the 88th match minute, Mark Suðureyri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Röðull Sólbergsson to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Mark Suðureyri's zone, Ástvar Smárason stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brynsteinn Finnbogason came out of the goal and Ástvar Smárason tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th minute, Guðfinnur Böðvarsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Röðull Sólbergsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Máni Mjóifirði fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mark Suðureyri had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
