Cvetin Đukanović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Štavljanin having to interfere. Radivoj Boljević received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Rodoljub Gurić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Radivoj Boljević sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Cvetin Đukanović fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Žitkovac OFK's protests and gave Cvetin Đukanović a yellow card for diving instead. 12 minutes into the match, Žitkovac OFK's goal looked a bit too open when Radivoj Boljević came free, but Rodoljub Gurić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ratomir Košutić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Rodoljub Gurić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodoljub Gurić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ratomir Košutić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Žitkovac OFK's Rodoljub Gurić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ratomir Košutić in the 22nd minute of play. Rodoljub Gurić stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ratomir Košutić's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute, Cvetin Đukanović got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Ratomir Košutić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Irig's supporters rose to their feet, but Ratomir Košutić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodoljub Gurić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 48th minute, Radivoj Boljević left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Irig fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After the first half Irig were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cvetin Đukanović to make the kick off. Vladimir Stupar's late challenge caught a Irig's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vladimir Stupar helped the player get up and apologised. Vladimir Stupar kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Rodoljub Gurić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radivoj Boljević in the 64th minute of play. Ratomir Košutić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Rodoljub Gurić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Radivoj Boljević struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Rodoljub Gurić didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Irig. The supporters of Irig booed when Žitkovac OFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cvetin Đukanović didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ratomir Košutić in the 88th minute of play forced Žitkovac OFK's goalkeeper Rodoljub Gurić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dragomir Kovač sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 93 minutes into the match, Dragomir Kovač notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Irig's Danilo Štavljanin. Danilo Štavljanin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
