The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Varvarin OFK booed when Žitkovac OFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cvetin Đukanović didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Varvarin OFK's Ljubinko Krčedinac got a free kick in the 9th minute. After 10 minutes, Dragomir Kovač mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Žitkovac OFK and the Varvarin OFK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ljuban Vukojičić in the 13thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rodoljub Gurić, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 16th match minute, Varvarin OFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ljubomir Đoševski to maneuver through the defense. If Borivoj Stasković had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodoljub Gurić made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Ljuban Vukojičić sent off a good shot on target. Vladimir Stupar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes into the game, Ljubomir Đoševski recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rodoljub Gurić. Ljubomir Đoševski showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 34 minutes into the match, Varvarin OFK's Ljuban Vukojičić sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rodoljub Gurić narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Cvetin Đukanović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jakov Đorović's shot from long distance in the 38th minute was not bad at all, but Žitkovac OFK's Rodoljub Gurić knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Dragomir Kovač recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cvetin Đukanović was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Ljuban Vukojičić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varvarin OFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Ljuban Vukojičić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodoljub Gurić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vladimir Stupar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Jugoslav Jeremić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Žitkovac OFK booed when Varvarin OFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ljubomir Đoševski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ljuban Vukojičić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodoljub Gurić having to interfere. During the 66th minute of the match Dragomir Kovač completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dragomir Kovač a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Žitkovac OFK getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Dragomir Kovač hit a great ball. Ljuban Vukojičić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rodoljub Gurić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ljubomir Đoševski in the 71st minute of the match. Rodoljub Gurić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ljuban Vukojičić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Vladimir Stupar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cvetin Đukanović got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 1-1 in the right cross in the 85th match minute before Jugoslav Jeremić had time to react. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Cvetin Đukanović took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Jugoslav Jeremić to make any attempt to save it. Žitkovac OFK's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
