After having played for 15 minutes, Voja Saletić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FK Neresnica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Voja Saletić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 16th match minute, Niš was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Savo Glogovac to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Niš's Nenad Bondžulić got control of the ball when Draža Tomčić tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 29th minute, Đorđe Momčilović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 32 minutes of play, FK Neresnica's Mladen Antonić made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nenad Bondžulić was left in no man's land by his defense there! Miladin Petrović came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Niš's Đorđe Momčilović. But to his dismay, Đorđe Momčilović quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Žarko Miljaković hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute Radivoje Stevanović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miladin Petrović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Voja Saletić to strike the kick off in the second half. Voja Saletić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee showed Mladen Antonić the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mladen Antonić kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Many of Niš's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Niš may have spent more time on the ball, but FK Neresnica were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
