The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Ognjen Janković's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Božo Joković was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. When Stevan Graovac came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Banjani fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stevan Graovac couldn't finish the play. Ognjen Janković might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Božo Joković. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ognjen Janković ran back to his position shaking his head. Božo Joković made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radislav Pešović in the 15th minute of play. Atlético Beograd's Božo Joković played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radislav Pešović in the 22nd minute of play. Milan Pustinjaković showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanko Marinović in the 24th minute of the match. Milan Pustinjaković took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stanko Marinović, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 minutes of play, Banjani's Ognjen Janković made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Božo Joković was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 33rd match minute, Atlético Beograd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ignjatije Tutorić to maneuver through the defense. If Stevan Graovac had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Banjani booed when Atlético Beograd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jevta Mijac didn't get a good kick on the ball. Radislav Pešović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Božo Joković tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 minutes, Sima Kontić made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Atlético Beograd's Božo Joković tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Božo Joković showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sima Kontić, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanko Marinović in the 54th minute of play forced Banjani's goalkeeper Milan Pustinjaković to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 55 played minutes Banjani got a freekick which was hit by Vojko Bulajić. Vladimir Mirković charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vladimir Mirković the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Atlético Beograd booed when Banjani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Mirković didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sima Kontić got free with Božo Joković in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ignjatije Tutorić kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanko Marinović in the 67th minute of play forced Banjani's goalkeeper Milan Pustinjaković to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sima Kontić scored 0-3 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Božo Joković, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sima Kontić struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Božo Joković didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Banjani. 73 minutes into the match, Atlético Beograd's goal looked a bit too open when Stevan Graovac came free, but Božo Joković reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Atlético Beograd's Božo Joković got control of the ball when Ognjen Janković tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78th minute of the match Atlético Beograd got a corner. Banjani's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jevta Mijac ran over to the corner to take the kick. Banjani's Milan Pustinjaković played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prodan Dujaković in the 80th minute of play. After 81 played minutes Banjani got a freekick which was hit by Ognjen Janković. In the 82nd match minute, Atlético Beograd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prodan Dujaković to maneuver through the defense. After 83 minutes of play, Atlético Beograd's Stanko Marinović made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Milan Pustinjaković was left in no man's land by his defense there! Milan Pustinjaković showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stanko Marinović, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Milan Pustinjaković showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanko Marinović in the 88th minute of the match. When Radislav Pešović fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Banjani's protests and gave Radislav Pešović a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Banjani getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Radislav Pešović hit a great ball. Banjani's Milan Pustinjaković played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanko Marinović in the 90th minute of play. Prodan Dujaković was shown his second yellow card after 92 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 92nd match minute, Atlético Beograd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prodan Dujaković to maneuver through the defense. Banjani's Milan Pustinjaković played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanko Marinović in the 96th minute of play. Banjani played a much better game than Atlético Beograd and deserved their victory. The Atlético Beograd players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
