UWA Penarth's Brad Gately played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clud Findley in the 10th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in UWA Penarth's zone, Yale Hodgkiss stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brad Gately came out of the goal and Yale Hodgkiss tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Chepstow 's Cadman Haran got a free kick in the 19th minute. When Chepstow 's Yale Hodgkiss in 22 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Brad Gately guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Clud Findley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Yale Hodgkiss had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brad Gately came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Chepstow 's Clud Findley. But to his dismay, Clud Findley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 33 minutes into the match, Chepstow 's goalkeeper Rhain Giggs had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sel Faherty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rhett Gee in the 45th minute of play forced Chepstow 's goalkeeper Rhain Giggs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

UWA Penarth's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chepstow the free kick. 61 minutes into the game, one of UWA Penarth:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Brad Gately went to the wrong direction when Prydwen Hollingworth was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Chepstow 's goal looked a bit too open when Sel Faherty came free, but Rhain Giggs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute Sel Faherty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rhain Giggs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Chepstow 's Selyf Haylow got a free kick in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sel Faherty in the 73rd minute of play forced Chepstow 's goalkeeper Rhain Giggs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Selyf Haylow charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Selyf Haylow the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rhain Giggs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sel Faherty in the 77th minute of play. When Clud Findley came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Chepstow fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clud Findley couldn't finish the play. Yale Hodgkiss struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Brad Gately didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chepstow . Tudur Catley kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rhett Gee in the 84th minute of play forced Chepstow 's goalkeeper Rhain Giggs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Chepstow defense, Sel Faherty kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rhain Giggs. The Chepstow fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rhain Giggs should have stopped the shot. Sel Faherty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Rhain Giggs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rhett Gee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rhain Giggs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rhett Gee, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Rhett Gee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
