Nerth Biggs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caledvwich Edwards in the 4th minute of play. After 6 minutes, Anwar Irvine made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Aberystwyth's Nerth Biggs tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Inek Tipstaff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gormant Joyner having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Accalon Cupp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 22 minutes into the game, Merlin Fox was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UWA Bangor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aberystwyth the free kick. When Inek Tipstaff came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Aberystwyth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inek Tipstaff couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, UWA Bangor's Gormant Joyner got control of the ball when Accalon Cupp tried to sneak it across the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Aberystwyth's goal looked a bit too open when Anwar Irvine came free, but Nerth Biggs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 38 minutes, Dyvyr Fairbrother mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UWA Bangor and the Aberystwyth players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
