Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Ivan Hewitt started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Arthur McAdie didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivan Hewitt went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Alexander Ross fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David McVinish having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evan Sharp in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David McVinish prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 14th minute, Jamie McDermid hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the match, Ivan Hewitt notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Lanark AFC's Arthur McAdie. Arthur McAdie was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 26 minutes into the match, Lanark AFC's Evan Sharp sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that David McVinish narrowly saved just below the crossbar. David McVinish took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evan Sharp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arthur McAdie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Hewitt in the 33rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Davie Caw in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arthur McAdie saved Lanark AFC from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Davie Caw's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arthur McAdie was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. The Lanark AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Livingston were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Evan Sharp to make the kick off. Alexander Ross received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. David McVinish tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute Ivan Hewitt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur McAdie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 62 played minutes Lanark AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jamie McDermid. Adrian McOran took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arthur McAdie. Lanark AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Arthur McAdie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Hewitt in the 66th minute of play. Jamie McDermid charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jamie McDermid the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Livingston's Ivan Hewitt got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arthur McAdie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Davie Caw in the 70th minute. After a rather tough play, Lanark AFC's Jamie McDermid got a free kick in the 71st minute. Ivan Hewitt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Arthur McAdie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ivan Hewitt came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Livingston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Hewitt couldn't finish the play. David McVinish took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Ross, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Livingston's goalkeeper David McVinish, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arthur McAdie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Hewitt, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Livingston's zone, Evan Sharp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David McVinish came out of the goal and Evan Sharp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alexander Ross had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Livingston's Davie Caw got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Livingston supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Livingston would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
