Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Darius McMonies managed to get in a good position for a shot. Forfar City's supporters rose to their feet, but Darius McMonies was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Owen Fulton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Larry Gorman's late challenge caught a Forfar City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Larry Gorman helped the player get up and apologised. Larry Gorman hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 11 minutes into the match, Forfar City's Barry Cottrill sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Owen Fulton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Darius McMoniess short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Owen Fulton to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Elliot Mennie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute, Irvin Elder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wayne Stevenson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elliot Mennie, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Wayne Stevenson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frankie Daniels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mark Suttie kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Elliot Mennie notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Forfar City's Wayne Stevenson. Wayne Stevenson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 33 minutes into the game, Barry Cottrill recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Owen Fulton. Barry Cottrill showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Owen Fulton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darius McMonies in the 40th minute. Tony McGrime took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wayne Stevenson. Forfar City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Irvin Elder was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 44 minutes had been played. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elliot Mennie in the 47th minute of play forced Forfar City's goalkeeper Wayne Stevenson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

With an all-out effort, Wigtown's Wayne Stevenson threw himself towards the right post 71 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Frankie Daniels, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Darius McMonies received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Owen Fulton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Forfar City's Wayne Stevenson got control of the ball when Elliot Mennie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Elliot Mennie struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Wayne Stevenson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wigtown. Wayne Stevenson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frankie Daniels, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 87thth minute of the game Frankie Daniels who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Forfar City's Wayne Stevenson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Forfar City's Darius McMonies got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elliot Mennie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Stevenson having to interfere. The Wigtown supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Wigtown would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
