Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Wigtown's Frankie Daniels started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norman McPhedron during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Norman McPhedron kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Walter Bontine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frankie Daniels in the 17th minute of the match. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rogart FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tony McGrime was slow to take the kick. During this time Wigtown's players had a chance to rest. Wigtown's Tony McGrime was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Walter Bontine in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Walter Bontine stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frankie Daniels's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. The supporters of Wigtown booed when Rogart FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terence King didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th match minute, Rogart FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terence King to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute of the match Tony McGrime shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Walter Bontine showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 26th match minute, Rogart FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terence King to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Wigtown's goal looked a bit too open when Kieran Gibson came free, but Owen Fulton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wigtown's goalkeeper Owen Fulton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 42nd minute, Elliot Mennie ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Walter Bontine was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kieran Gibson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Owen Fulton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kieran Gibson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Owen Fulton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kieran Gibson, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 59th minute, Terence King hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elliot Mennie struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Walter Bontine didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wigtown. Rogart FC's Walter Bontine proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Rogart FC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Wigtown getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Elliot Mennie hit a great ball. Frankie Daniels blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walter Bontine having to make a save. The supporters of Rogart FC booed when Wigtown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamie McCansh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frankie Daniels who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Walter Bontine when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Walter Bontine came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Wigtown's Elliot Mennie. But to his dismay, Elliot Mennie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Owen Fulton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kieran Gibson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robbie Morgan struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Walter Bontine didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wigtown. Frankie Daniels received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Walter Bontine came out and tried to block the shot, but Frankie Daniels slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 86th minute. After a rather tough play, Rogart FC's Terence King got a free kick in the 89th minute. Chris Stalker took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Owen Fulton. Owen Fulton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. The Wigtown supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Wigtown would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
