A very good chance. Munro O'Shaig struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Jake McKillop didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bathgate. If Ronan McCammon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michael Coutts who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Martin Robinson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 40th minute Ronan McCammon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Robinson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darren McAlister in the 44th minute of play forced Linlithgow's goalkeeper Jake McKillop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute, Lloyd McThomas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Darren McAlister made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Munro O'Shaig dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jake McKillop, 0-2. When Lloyd McThomas was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 56 minutes had been played. In the 57th match minute, Bathgate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lloyd McThomas to maneuver through the defense. Munro O'Shaig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Jake McKillop made a huge save. Bathgate's Danny McIlriach couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 89th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Linlithgow. In the 92nd minute Ronan McCammon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Robinson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Willie Hendrie fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bathgate's protests and gave Willie Hendrie a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd minute, Willie Hendrie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronan McCammon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Martin Robinson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Michael Coutts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Bathgate walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
