Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Stewart McKinnell started the match with the kick off. Arthur Carstarphen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arthur Carstarphen in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Barry Scott prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edward McMurdo kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. After having played for 10 minutes, Arthur Carstarphen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lybster's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arthur Carstarphen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Leverburgh FC's goalkeeper Barry Scott had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rory McRuer. Barry Scott was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Arthur Carstarphen showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. If Rory McRuer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arthur Carstarphen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Barry Scott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Barry Scott made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rory McRuer in the 21st minute. Rory McRuer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wal McKean in the 31st minute of play forced Lybster's goalkeeper Gary McLeverty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rory McRuer got free with Barry Scott in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Barry Scott made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rory McRuer in the 36th minute. Arthur Carstarphen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Leverburgh FC's goalkeeper Barry Scott, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wal McKean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gary McLeverty having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Lybster's zone, Stewart McKinnell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gary McLeverty came out of the goal and Stewart McKinnell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arthur Carstarphen to strike the kick off in the second half. Barry Scott took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rory McRuer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wal McKean struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Gary McLeverty didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leverburgh FC. After a defensive mix-up in Leverburgh FC's zone, Rory McRuer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barry Scott came out of the goal and Rory McRuer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lybster's Gary McLeverty proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Lybster from getting a goal against them. Rory McRuer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barry Scott having to interfere. The supporters of Leverburgh FC booed when Lybster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Archie McIndoe didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute Dean McIan suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. 83 minutes into the game, Edward McMurdo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leverburgh FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lybster the free kick. The supporters of Lybster booed when Leverburgh FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward McMurdo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Rory McRuer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lybster's supporters rose to their feet, but Rory McRuer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barry Scott breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 89th minute Matthew Bean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barry Scott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Lybster had played much better football throughout.
