Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Nicholas Meine made the kick off which started today's match. After having played for 4 minutes, Mark Masterson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballygrant City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Masterson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicholas Meine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Wally Fairbairn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Nicholas Meine's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wally Fairbairn was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. In the 11th minute, Lossiemouth City's Lee McIlleriach ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Les McConnechy. Les McConnechy yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Terry Cobb struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Les McConnechy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lossiemouth City. Lee McIlleriach blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Les McConnechy having to make a save. Terry Cobb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 34 minutes into the match, Lossiemouth City's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Masterson came free, but Wally Fairbairn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lee McIlleriach's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Les McConnechy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. After 40 played minutes Ballygrant City got a freekick which was hit by Phil Meikleham. After a defensive mix-up in Ballygrant City's zone, Lee McIlleriach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Les McConnechy came out of the goal and Lee McIlleriach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 47 minutes, Lee McIlleriach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lossiemouth City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lee McIlleriach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lee McIlleriach stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Terry Cobb in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Les McConnechy saved Ballygrant City from getting behind. Les McConnechy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lee McIlleriach, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 62 minutes into the match, Ballygrant City's goal looked a bit too open when Lee McIlleriach came free, but Les McConnechy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lee McIlleriach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phil Meikleham was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 68 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ballygrant City fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Lossiemouth City a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rick Copeland, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ballygrant City's Les McConnechy. 2-1. In the 75th minute Lee McIlleriach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Les McConnechy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Terry Cobb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Les McConnechy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lee McIlleriach in the 79th minute of play. Les McConnechy came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Lossiemouth City's Lee McIlleriach. But to his dismay, Lee McIlleriach quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Lossiemouth City's Wally Fairbairn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Lossiemouth City from getting a goal against them. After 93 played minutes Ballygrant City got a freekick which was hit by Alistair Ellwood. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Terry Cobb in the 100th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Les McConnechy saved Ballygrant City from getting behind. Lossiemouth City's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
