Cowes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rod Clyne ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Rod Clyne got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mike Devlin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Edmond Lair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jack Christie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Mike Devlin made a huge save. If Jack Christie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddie McOwl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricky Hill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Cowes's goalkeeper Mike Devlin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jack Christie. In the 27th match minute, Cowes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Coultard to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Cowes's zone, Jack Christie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mike Devlin came out of the goal and Jack Christie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evan Ayson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricky Hill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddie McOwl having to interfere. Freddie McOwl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmond Lair, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Cromarty FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Evan Wilson hit a great ball. After 36 played minutes Cromarty FC got a freekick which was hit by Evan Wilson. Cowes's Ricky Hill got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Cowes booed when Cromarty FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evan Wilson didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Evan Ayson was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 57 minutes, Evan Ayson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cromarty FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evan Ayson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Freddie McOwl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmond Lair in the 60th minute. When Jay Menzies fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cowes's protests and gave Jay Menzies a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd match minute, Cowes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jay Menzies to maneuver through the defense. If Jack Christie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 71 played minutes Cowes got a freekick which was hit by Quentin McLergain. In the 80thth minute of the game Evan Ayson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cowes's Mike Devlin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Edmond Lair had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edmond Lair received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Freddie McOwl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jack Christie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
