After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when James Gilespie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Greg Burk fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Anstruther City's protests and gave Greg Burk a yellow card for diving instead. After recieving a nice pass, Peebles's Grant Jones tried to score from far away in the 58th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Alisdair Aitcheson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Anstruther City's Aidan McMurdoch got a free kick in the 68th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Peebles's Grant Jones broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Wally McKichan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from James Gilespie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Alisdair Aitcheson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peebles's supporters rose to their feet, but Alisdair Aitcheson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmond McGeachie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling James Gilespie in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wally McKichan prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
