Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alisdair Aitcheson started the match with the kick off. If Alisdair Aitcheson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ter Tawse charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ter Tawse the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th minute, Ter Tawse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jacob Fox stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Timmy McLean's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Alex Moodie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wally McKichan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sam Christie in the 19th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Peebles's zone, Sam Christie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wally McKichan came out of the goal and Sam Christie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peebles's goalkeeper Wally McKichan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Alisdair Aitcheson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Timmy McLean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute Alex Moodie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wally McKichan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sam Christie in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wally McKichan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alisdair Aitcheson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacob Fox having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Sam Christie made a precise shot to the right of Wally McKichan. Peebles's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Alex Moodie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huntly's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex Moodie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wally McKichan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alex Moodie was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alex Moodie in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wally McKichan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Peebles's Roddie McAldonich got a free kick in the 59th minute. Alex Moodie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wally McKichan having to interfere. 70 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Peebles's Timmy McLean fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 73rd minute Sam Christie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wally McKichan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alex Moodie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Christie in the 76th minute of play forced Peebles's goalkeeper Wally McKichan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Moodie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Wally McKichan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sam Christie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Timmy McLean recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Huntly were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Peebles for a fine match.
