Spectators: 37 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Freddie Gillon started the match with the kick off. A hard shot 6 in the game by Archie Neish from a close distance when the talented Benjamin McNab managed to make a qualified save. Garve's players were relieved. When Gavin McKelloch fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Garve's protests and gave Gavin McKelloch a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Falkirk booed when Garve was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gavin McKelloch didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Falkirk's Freddie Gillon in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Garve's goalie prevented a goal. Freddie Gillon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin McNab having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frankie Denoon during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 24 played minutes Garve got a freekick which was hit by Frankie Denoon. Archie Neish sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Archie Neish's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benjamin McNab read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of Garve:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Falkirk:s goal. Benjamin McNab went to the wrong direction when Stuart Griffin was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Freddie Gillon was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 45th minute. Falkirk's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When Falkirk's Archie Neish in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Garve's goalie prevented a goal. Garve's Benjamin McNab played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddie Gillon in the 62nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Liam McCluskie's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rod McAngus was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Rob Limont who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Rod McAngus when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 68th match minute, Falkirk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky Simson to maneuver through the defense. Liam McCluskie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Rod McAngus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rob Limont sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Freddie Gillon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Falkirk's supporters rose to their feet, but Freddie Gillon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benjamin McNab breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 90th minute, Freddie Gillon made a precise shot to the right of Benjamin McNab. Garve's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Falkirk walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
