Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Daniel McDermid got the match started through his kick off. Craig Bowmaker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Hugh Harvey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Johnny Davison during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Johnny Davison hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Daniel McDermid managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skelmorlie's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel McDermid was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugh Harvey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rick McKellaigh during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Skelmorlie's Rick McKellaigh got a free kick in the 13th minute. 18 minutes into the game, Daniel McDermid recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hugh Harvey. Daniel McDermid showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Declan McAindra hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Stirling's Tom Basnett got a free kick in the 25th minute. After having played for 30 minutes, Craig Bowmaker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skelmorlie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Craig Bowmaker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Daniel McDermid managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skelmorlie's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel McDermid was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugh Harvey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Blair Hastings's late challenge caught a Skelmorlie's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Blair Hastings helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Stirling's Blair Hastings got a free kick in the 35th minute. With a little luck, Stirling's Hugh Harvey got control of the ball when Craig Bowmaker tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for David McVean to strike the kick off in the second half. Samuel McRach charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuel McRach the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 54th match minute, Skelmorlie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel McRach to maneuver through the defense. Bruce Adamson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Keith McKelvie skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 65th minute Daniel McDermid shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugh Harvey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the game, Stirling's Bruce Adamson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Keith McKelvie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 75 played minutes Skelmorlie got a freekick which was hit by Declan McAindra. An unexpectedly hard shot by Craig Bowmaker in the 81st minute of play forced Stirling's goalkeeper Hugh Harvey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blair Hastings kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. 87 minutes into the match, Skelmorlie's Alexander Lamondson broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Daniel McDermid managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skelmorlie's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel McDermid was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugh Harvey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel McDermid scored 2-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hugh Harvey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Skelmorlie fans cheered their team off the field, for while Stirling had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
