Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Barry Geddes started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Jack Esson came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Kirriemuir fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jack Esson couldn't finish the play. In the 7th minute Les McRurie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norman Alder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9th minute Timothy McCorkill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norman Alder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th minute, Munro Watt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Burnium FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Terence Suttie during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Burnium FC's Terence Suttie got a free kick in the 14th minute. Norman Alder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Les McRurie in the 20th minute of the match. After having played for 22 minutes, Terence Suttie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burnium FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Terence Suttie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Norman Alder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Munro Watt in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terence Suttie in the 25th minute of play forced Kirriemuir's goalkeeper Norman Alder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Kirriemuir's goal looked a bit too open when Les McRurie came free, but Norman Alder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Munro Watt scored 0-3 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Norman Alder, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Norman Alder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Les McRurie, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Barry Geddes took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fraser Duthie. Fraser Duthie dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Norman Alder stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Les McRurie's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Norman Alder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Munro Watt, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Kirriemuir's Norman Alder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timothy McCorkill in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Burnium FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Timothy McCorkill to make the kick off. Burnium FC's Munro Watt got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Burnium FC booed when Kirriemuir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles Luke didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Les McRurie got free with Norman Alder in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 56th minute of the match, Timothy McCorkill tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Norman Alder saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Timothy McCorkill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norman Alder having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Les McRurie left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Burnium FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Norman Alder made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Les McRurie sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terence Suttie in the 66th minute of play forced Kirriemuir's goalkeeper Norman Alder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute, Burnium FC's Les McRurie ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Norman Alder. Norman Alder yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. 71 minutes into the match, Kirriemuir's goal looked a bit too open when Munro Watt came free, but Norman Alder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Les McRurie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Norman Alder made a huge save. Norman Alder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timothy McCorkill in the 78th minute of the match. Les McRurie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Norman Alder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Barry Geddes struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Fraser Duthie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kirriemuir. Burnium FC's Fraser Duthie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jack Esson in the 82nd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Kirriemuir's goalkeeper Norman Alder had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Les McRurie. In the 88th minute of the match, Timothy McCorkill tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Norman Alder saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 89th minute Barry Geddes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fraser Duthie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Munro Watt fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Burnium FC's protests and gave Munro Watt a yellow card for diving instead. After 91 played minutes Burnium FC got a freekick which was hit by Munro Watt. When Barry Geddes came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Kirriemuir fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barry Geddes couldn't finish the play. The Kirriemuir fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Burnium FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
