After 7 minutes of play, grangemouth's Aiden McKersey made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iain Lambie was left in no man's land by his defense there! Keith McNie hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute Aiden McKersey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iain Lambie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, grangemouth's Stathis Agritis got a free kick in the 12th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aiden McKersey in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iain Lambie saved Inverness Warriors from getting behind. After some careless play in the Inverness Warriors defense, Aiden McKersey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iain Lambie. The Inverness Warriors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iain Lambie should have stopped the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 29 minutes into the game, when Matt Corrie put in a rough tackle. The referee gave grangemouth a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tomás da Silveira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Inverness Warriors's Iain Lambie. 0-3. Charles-Antoine Boegaerts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Finlay Gifford in the 36th minute of the match. Iain Lambie came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by grangemouth's Aiden McKersey. But to his dismay, Aiden McKersey quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Charles-Antoine Boegaerts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Binnie in the 42nd minute of the match. Charles-Antoine Boegaerts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Keith McNie, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Iain Lambie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmond Niven in the 47th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Charles-Antoine Boegaerts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Finlay Gifford in the 54th minute of the match. Lee Martin kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Tomás da Silveira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iain Lambie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. 58 minutes into the game, Inverness Warriors's Finlay Gifford nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Charles-Antoine Boegaerts made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. 62 minutes into the match, Inverness Warriors's goal looked a bit too open when Aiden McKersey came free, but Iain Lambie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Neil McLeverty got free with Iain Lambie in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Declan McKichan charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Declan McKichan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Inverness Warriors's Declan McKichan got a free kick in the 65th minute. The long shot by Tomás da Silveira in the 66th minute really tested Iain Lambie's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Aiden McKersey put it in 1-5 from a short distance just to the right of Iain Lambie. Aiden McKersey took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iain Lambie. Iain Lambie dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. The crowd rose to their feet as grangemouth's Aiden McKersey slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Iain Lambie. That made the score 1-7 after 75 minutes of play. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Iain Lambie successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 80th match minute, Inverness Warriors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lee Martin to maneuver through the defense. Aiden McKersey who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Iain Lambie when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A hard shot 90 in the game by Aiden McKersey from a close distance when the talented Iain Lambie managed to make a qualified save. Inverness Warriors's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Binnie in the 92nd minute of play forced grangemouth's goalkeeper Charles-Antoine Boegaerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmond Niven recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Charles-Antoine Boegaerts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keith McNie in the 95th minute of play. The grangemouth supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing grangemouth would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
