After a rather tough play, No Pants FC's Roddie Niven got a free kick in the 9th minute. After having played for 10 minutes, Les Gilbert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Biggar of the North's supporters crossed their fingers, but Les Gilbert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Biggar of the North's goal looked a bit too open when Jimmy Storie came free, but Keith Abbott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Biggar of the North defense, Ivan Hughes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Keith Abbott. The Biggar of the North fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Keith Abbott should have stopped the shot. Kenny Baxter struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Keith Abbott didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for No Pants FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregor McFeat in the 25th minute of play forced Biggar of the North's goalkeeper Keith Abbott to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Raymond McPherson could shoot a difficult shot in the 26th minute, which Samuel McElfrish however easily saved by the left post. In the 28th minute, Gregor McFeat ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Keith Abbott was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Kenny Baxter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keith Abbott having to interfere. In the 39th match minute, Biggar of the North was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Declan McCartair to maneuver through the defense. No Pants FC's Gregor McFeat got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kenny Baxter to make the kick off.
