The referee ignored Espaldao FC's protests and gave Cristiano Leite a yellow card for diving instead. Cristiano Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Alexandre Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Jairo Pimentel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jairo Pimentel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Miguel Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nivaldo Madureira in the 53rd minute of the match. Pedro Resende charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Resende the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 57th minute, Pedro Resende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nivaldo Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Freire in the 61st minute of play forced Espaldao FC's goalkeeper Miguel Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Ponta Do Pargo's Jairo Pimentel got control of the ball when Carlos Leite tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sérgio Freire in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Miguel Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 95 minutes into the game, Sérgio Freire cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Miguel Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the Espaldao FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ponta Do Pargo.
