Luís Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amílcar Delgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amílcar Delgado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mário Bessa's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernando Guarda got free with Gonçalo Cruz in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 19thth minute of the game Mário Bessa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arripiado's Amílcar Delgado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 20 minutes, Lucas Antunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arripiado and the Petigueiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gonçalo Cruz was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Luís Vieira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luís Vieira really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. With 32 minutes on the clock, Emanuel Pereira commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 32nd minute, one of Petigueiras:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Petigueiras. Gonçalo Cruz had in the 34thth minute some difficulties stopping Basílio Amorim's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Basílio Amorim took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gonçalo Cruz. Gonçalo Cruz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Vítor Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernando Guarda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Cruz having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vítor Silva to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 64th minute, Vítor Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 68 minutes, Vítor Silva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Petigueiras and the Arripiado players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vítor Silva hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute, Xavier Pereira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernando Guarda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Gonçalo Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafael Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Fernando Guarda might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gonçalo Cruz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fernando Guarda ran back to his position shaking his head. After 78 played minutes Petigueiras got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Soares. Adelino Leite hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After having played for 83 minutes, Basílio Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arripiado's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basílio Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 85 minutes into the game, Xavier Pereira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Petigueiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arripiado the free kick. After 86 played minutes, Arripiado's Basílio Amorim shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gonçalo Cruz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Arripiado reached it. In the 90th minute, Lucas Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amílcar Delgado was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Adelino Leite. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Arripiado fans cheered their team off the field, for while Petigueiras had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
