The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardo Baldaia during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Paulo Fonseca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nivaldo Antunes's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nivaldo Antunes in the 14th minute of play forced Oliveirinha FC's goalkeeper Paulo Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eusébio Simões hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the game, Rogério Marques was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oliveirinha FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mirateca FC the free kick. In the 18th match minute, Oliveirinha FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogério Marques to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Oliveirinha FC booed when Mirateca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Junqueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rogério Trindade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rogério Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nivaldo Antunes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Fonseca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Renato Vasques kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If Rogério Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oliveirinha FC's goalkeeper Paulo Fonseca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nivaldo Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Rubim Gonçalves came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Mirateca FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubim Gonçalves couldn't finish the play. 59 minutes into the match, Nivaldo Antunes notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Oliveirinha FC's Paulo Fonseca. Paulo Fonseca was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 72 minutes, Rogério Trindade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oliveirinha FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogério Trindade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulo Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubim Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Nivaldo Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mirateca FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nivaldo Antunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulo Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubim Gonçalves in the 78th minute of play. In the 85thth minute of the game Rogério Marques who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mirateca FC's Antero Vieira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Mirateca FC's Diogo Junqueira got a free kick in the 86th minute. Rubim Gonçalves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Fonseca having to make a save. Paulo Magalhães's late challenge caught a Mirateca FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Magalhães helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Oliveirinha FC's Paulo Magalhães got a free kick in the 91st minute. Rogério Trindade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Antero Vieira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Oliveirinha FC's Rogério Marques dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2.
