Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jacob Loureiro kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amadeu Alves in the 3rd minute of play forced SC Taboaco's goalkeeper Nuno Águas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amadeu Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 8 minutes into the game, Joaquim Serpa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Taboaco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lijo FC the free kick. A collision led to SC Taboaco getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Joaquim Serpa hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Lijo FC's João Oliveira tried to score from far away in the 9th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Amadeu Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Vasco Palhares fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Taboaco's protests and gave Vasco Palhares a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, SC Taboaco's Vasco Palhares got a free kick in the 15th minute. When Lijo FC's Amadeu Alves in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Taboaco's goalie prevented a goal. When Jacob Loureiro came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the SC Taboaco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacob Loureiro couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the match, Catarino Gusmão notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Lijo FC's Fernando Cardoso. Fernando Cardoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fernando Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Catarino Gusmão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Simão Tavares hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Lijo FC's Amadeu Alves pulled a muscle in his back after 33 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 33 minutes, Virgílio Gameiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Taboaco and the Lijo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Virgílio Gameiro hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. When Gastão Tristão fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Taboaco's protests and gave Gastão Tristão a yellow card for diving instead. Catarino Gusmão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Cardoso having to interfere. Lijo FC's Fernando Cardoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacob Loureiro in the 45th minute of play. Américo Castro was extremely unlucky when he, in the 46th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After the first half SC Taboaco were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 53 played minutes Lijo FC got a freekick which was hit by Simão Tavares. Jacob Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Cardoso having to interfere. Catarino Gusmão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Fernando Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Águas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Américo Castro in the 74th minute of play. When Gastão Tristão was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 79 minutes had been played. After 80 played minutes SC Taboaco got a freekick which was hit by Gastão Tristão. 83 minutes into the match, Lijo FC's Francisco Delgado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nuno Águas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 84th minute, Américo Castro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Francisco Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nuno Águas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Américo Castro in the 88th minute of play. SC Taboaco's Nuno Águas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Américo Castro in the 96th minute of play. The SC Taboaco supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Taboaco would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
