Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jaime Sarmento kicked off to start the match. After 4 minutes of play, Lijo FC's Américo Castro made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amado Onofre was left in no man's land by his defense there! Amado Onofre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeu Alves in the 9th minute of the match. Fernando Cardoso stood somewhat misplaced when Jaime Sarmento came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 13 minute. When Vasco da Gama's Jaime Sarmento in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lijo FC's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mauro Sales during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Américo Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lijo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Américo Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amado Onofre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 35 played minutes Lijo FC got a freekick which was hit by Simão Tavares. When Jaime Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Vasco da Gama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Sarmento couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Vasco da Gama's Lucílio Pinho got a free kick in the 46th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amadeu Alves to make the kick off. When Mauro Sales came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Vasco da Gama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Sales couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Vasco da Gama booed when Lijo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duarte Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caetano Paião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jaime Sarmento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Fernando Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alcino Vilarinho hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After 75 played minutes, Lijo FC's João Oliveira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Amado Onofre came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lijo FC reached it. Américo Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amado Onofre having to interfere. Jaime Sarmento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fernando Cardoso having to make a save. In the 84th minute Jaime Severiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Simão Tavares fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lijo FC's protests and gave Simão Tavares a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Vasco da Gama booed when Lijo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simão Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucílio Pinho hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
