The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Torcato Vilas Boas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Pinheiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Delfim Campos was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Teodoro Barata. When Vicente Paredes fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ariosa's protests and gave Vicente Paredes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ventoselas FC booed when Ariosa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Paredes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Torcato Vilas Boas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Júlio Sá went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Torcato Vilas Boas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Sá in the 21st minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Ventoselas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Pinheiro came free, but Torcato Vilas Boas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Delfim Campos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodoro Leiria in the 28th minute of play. Delfim Campos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro Leiria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silvano Vilela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delfim Campos having to interfere. Teodoro Leiria was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 35th minute. Ventoselas FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Torcato Vilas Boas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Pinheiro in the 38th minute of the match. Virgílio Furtado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Delfim Campos made a huge save. Virgílio Furtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 52nd minute, Júlio Sá got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ariosa's Delfim Campos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Leiria in the 54th minute of play. 55 minutes into the game, Silvano Vilela was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ventoselas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ariosa the free kick. Silvano Vilela hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. In the 56th minute, Miguel Pinheiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Leiria in the 59th minute of play forced Ariosa's goalkeeper Delfim Campos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ventoselas FC's Torcato Vilas Boas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Ventoselas FC from getting a goal against them. Viriato Setúbal's late challenge caught a Ventoselas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Viriato Setúbal helped the player get up and apologised. After 62 played minutes Ariosa got a freekick which was hit by Viriato Setúbal. If Virgílio Furtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Delfim Campos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgílio Furtado in the 68th minute of play. Miguel Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Delfim Campos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvano Vilela in the 81st minute of the match. After 85 played minutes, Ariosa's Diogo Vale shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Torcato Vilas Boas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ariosa reached it. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
