The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Albertino Borba to strike the kick off in the second half. Ricardo Dantas was a little too slow when Sebastião Brito got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mário Amaro in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Carneiro saved Romarigaes FC from getting behind. Pedro Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertino Borba, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 70th minute, Armando Pereira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Mafra getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Eusébio Gueifão hit a great ball. The supporters of Romarigaes FC booed when Mafra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Santarém didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romarigaes FC's Humberto Dias shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 75th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ricardo Dantas but with some difficulty. Mafra's Ricardo Dantas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Mafra from getting a goal against them. Mário Amaro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Carneiro having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Albertino Borba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mafra's supporters rose to their feet, but Albertino Borba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Carneiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Armando Pereira struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Ricardo Dantas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Romarigaes FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertino Borba in the 96th minute of play forced Romarigaes FC's goalkeeper Pedro Carneiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romarigaes FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
