Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Álvaro Faria got the match started through his kick off. After a rather tough play, Azevedos's Armindo Rodrigues got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Badim FC's Donato Palmeira got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 5th match minute, Badim FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. Álvaro Faria scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daniel Nascimento, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 11thth minute of the game Mário Miranda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Badim FC's Daniel Nascimento was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Donato Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Eusébio Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donato Palmeira got free with Eusébio Queirós in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Donato Palmeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Azevedos getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Ricardo Lima hit a great ball. Donato Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Eusébio Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Azevedos's Jorge Andrade seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jorge Andrade the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Azevedos protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jorge Andrade had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 22 minutes into the game, one of Azevedos:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Dário Mourato's late challenge caught a Azevedos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dário Mourato helped the player get up and apologised. Dário Mourato kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After having played for 30 minutes, Paulo Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Azevedos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Porto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Badim FC's Dário Mourato got a free kick in the 38th minute. Donato Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Queirós having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Azevedos's zone, Donato Palmeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Queirós came out of the goal and Donato Palmeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jacob Trigueiro to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Armindo Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot. Azevedos's supporters rose to their feet, but Armindo Rodrigues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Nascimento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Azevedos's Mário Miranda got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Armindo Rodrigues struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Daniel Nascimento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Azevedos. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Mário Miranda sped through Badim FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Daniel Nascimento. When Jacob Trigueiro came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Badim FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacob Trigueiro couldn't finish the play. If Heitor Guarda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacob Trigueiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Queirós having to interfere. The Azevedos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Azevedos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
