Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 10 played minutes SC Malhada got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Neto. The audience held their breath when Jaime Lima in the 12th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Gaspar Baptista's left hand side. After 14 played minutes SC Malhada got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Faria. After 16 played minutes SC Malhada got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Henriques. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Mariano Henriques managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Malhada's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariano Henriques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armindo Ramos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute Sandro Pacheco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaspar Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandro Pacheco hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. SC Malhada's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Sandro Pacheco scored to the left of an out of position Gaspar Baptista, making the score, 1-0. Luís Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaspar Baptista having to interfere. Luís Ribeiro struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Gaspar Baptista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Arnoia. Paulo Oliveira might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armindo Ramos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Oliveira ran back to his position shaking his head. Mariano Henriques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armindo Ramos having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SC Arnoia's zone, Delfim Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armindo Ramos came out of the goal and Delfim Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sandro Pacheco to strike the kick off in the second half. Mariano Henriques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaime Lima was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 58th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 62nd match minute, SC Arnoia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Lima to maneuver through the defense. Óscar Antunes's late challenge caught a SC Malhada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Óscar Antunes helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Arnoia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Luís Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Arnoia's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Ribeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gaspar Baptista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Sandro Pacheco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sandro Pacheco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquim Aleixo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gaspar Baptista having to make a save. After 84 played minutes SC Malhada got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Faria. If Sandro Pacheco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
