Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Nuno Ferro made the kick off which started today's match. After 2 played minutes SC Varatojo got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Esteves. After a defensive mix-up in SC Varatojo's zone, Fernando Gueifão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adelino Assis came out of the goal and Fernando Gueifão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 6 minutes, Lúcio Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Varatojo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lúcio Ferreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adelino Assis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Gueifão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adelino Assis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Ferro in the 10th minute of play. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sernelha's goalkeeper Carlos Barros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 15 minutes into the game, SC Varatojo's Lúcio Ferreira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Barros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Lúcio Esteves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 42 played minutes Sernelha got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Cardoso. Lourenço Setúbal, 43 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Adelino Assis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nuno Ferro went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lúcio Ferreira to make the kick off. SC Varatojo's Adelino Assis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Ferro in the 57th minute of play. Fernando Gueifão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Adelino Assis made a huge save. Joaquim Maia hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Fernando Gueifão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Adelino Assis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Afonso Baptista fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Varatojo's protests and gave Afonso Baptista a yellow card for diving instead. Afonso Baptista hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 73rdth minute of the game Lúcio Ferreira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sernelha's Carlos Barros was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. SC Varatojo's Vítor Delgado got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of SC Varatojo booed when Sernelha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Domingues didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Vítor Delgado came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the SC Varatojo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vítor Delgado couldn't finish the play. The supporters of SC Varatojo booed when Sernelha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Basílio Esteves fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Varatojo's protests and gave Basílio Esteves a yellow card for diving instead. SC Varatojo:s Adelino Assis showed great skill when he stopped Abel Veiga:s penalty.
