An unexpected shot in the 5th minute by Jaime Guarda got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Diamantino Macedo made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Adelino Brás sent off a good shot on target. If Jorge Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diamantino Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Guarda in the 20th minute of the match. If Adelino Brás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diamantino Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Guarda in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Guarda in the 37th minute of play forced SC Malpica's goalkeeper Diamantino Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Castedo FC's Jaime Guarda got a free kick in the 38th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernando Fonseca to strike the kick off in the second half. When Adelino Nunes fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Malpica's protests and gave Adelino Nunes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SC Malpica getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Adelino Nunes hit a great ball. Diamantino Macedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Guarda, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Miguel Costa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorge Gaspar went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Miguel Costa made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Jorge Gaspar sent off a good shot on target. When Jaime Guarda came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Castedo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Guarda couldn't finish the play. Adelino Brás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Macedo having to interfere. Joaquim Fontes, 69 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Diamantino Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Guarda in the 71st minute of play. Adelino Nunes got his second yellow card in the match during the 72nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Jaime Guarda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Macedo having to interfere. Adelino Brás struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Diamantino Macedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castedo FC. 88 minutes into the match, Jorge Gaspar notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Castedo FC's Miguel Costa. Miguel Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Joaquim Pacheco came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Castedo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Pacheco couldn't finish the play.
