After 6 played minutes Montenegrelo got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Miranda. Laurentino Junqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Gaspar having to interfere. Hipólito Baptista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armindo Nogueira in the 13th minute of play. Sandro Pereira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hipólito Baptista having to make a save. After 21 played minutes Tabarca FC got a freekick which was hit by Éder Fagundes. When Montenegrelo's Armindo Nogueira in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tabarca FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 24th play minute Sandro Pereira came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Hipólito Baptista. 1-0. 27 minutes into the match, Montenegrelo's goal looked a bit too open when Laurentino Junqueira came free, but Carlos Gaspar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Armindo Nogueira struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Hipólito Baptista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montenegrelo. Armindo Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sandro Pereira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 41stth minute tested the skills of Hipólito Baptista when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Hipólito Baptista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armindo Nogueira in the 43rd minute of play. Carlos Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Éder Fagundes in the 49th minute of the match.

If Armindo Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 64 minutes, Armindo Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montenegrelo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armindo Nogueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Armindo Nogueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Éder Fagundes in the 70th minute of play. In the 74th match minute, Tabarca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramiro Portela to maneuver through the defense. 80 minutes into the match, Montenegrelo's Eusébio Fonseca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hipólito Baptista narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Armindo Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carlos Gaspar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ramiro Portela's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. After 91 played minutes Montenegrelo got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Miranda. A hard shot 92 in the game by Laurentino Junqueira from a close distance when the talented Carlos Gaspar managed to make a qualified save. Montenegrelo's players were relieved. In the 96th minute Armindo Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hipólito Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Montenegrelo players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
