Vítor Vilela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cepelos FC. António Costas short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Vítor Vilela to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Xavier Esparteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th minute, Joaquim Valentim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute, Bento Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomás Torcato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If António Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atlantis FC's Tomás Torcato got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Atlantis FC's zone, António Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vítor Vilela came out of the goal and António Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bento Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Cepelos FC's zone, Xavier Esparteiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Matos came out of the goal and Xavier Esparteiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bento Torres to strike the kick off in the second half. When Manuel Abreu fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cepelos FC's protests and gave Manuel Abreu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cepelos FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Manuel Abreu hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, Cepelos FC's goalkeeper Hugo Matos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomás Torcato. The supporters of Cepelos FC booed when Atlantis FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atlantis FC's Vítor Vilela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bento Torres in the 71st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Bento Torres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vítor Vilela was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers António Costa in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vítor Vilela saved Atlantis FC from getting behind. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Hugo Matos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Carlos Assunção recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, António Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cepelos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but António Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vítor Vilela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xavier Esparteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cepelos FC's Hugo Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xavier Esparteiro in the 97th minute of play.
