Tomás Valente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 5 played minutes Carvalhal got a freekick which was hit by Éder Jesus. Rodolfo Gaspar took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Máximo Eanes. Máximo Eanes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Carlos Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rodolfo Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Máximo Eanes having to interfere. Geraldo Rebocho kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Máximo Eanes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carvalhal's goalkeeper Filipe Liberato, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carvalhal's Filipe Liberato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Eiró in the 32nd minute of play. Wilson Eiró struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Filipe Liberato didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Filhos Brandão F.C.. Cesário Caeiro's late challenge caught a Filhos Brandão F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cesário Caeiro helped the player get up and apologised. After 43 played minutes Carvalhal got a freekick which was hit by Cesário Caeiro. Wilson Eiró received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Filipe Liberato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Carvalhal were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodolfo Gaspar was the one to do the kick off. Filipe Liberato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Eiró, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hélder Portugal during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Filhos Brandão F.C.'s Hélder Portugal got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 62nd minute Wilson Eiró shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filipe Liberato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Carlos Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Carvalhal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Amaral couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Filhos Brandão F.C.'s Máximo Eanes got control of the ball when Carlos Amaral tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Carvalhal's Rodolfo Gaspar in 76 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Máximo Eanes guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 78th minute, Luís Chagas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Tomás Valente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rodolfo Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Máximo Eanes having to interfere. Carlos Amaral scored 0-2 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Máximo Eanes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Carvalhal booed when Filhos Brandão F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonçalo Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Ricardo Lucena got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Carvalhal eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
