In the 7th match minute, Faceira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Vieira to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute of the match Luís Fonseca sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but António Simões skillfully saved the ball. In the 9th minute, Paulo Pinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 13 minutes, Rui Leiria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Papanata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Leiria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. António Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Leal in the 14th minute of the match. José Leal's late challenge caught a Faceira FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Leal helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Faceira FC booed when SC Papanata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Leal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, SC Papanata's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Tavares came free, but Marco Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rui Leiria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. António Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. António Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Leal, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 26 minutes into the match, Francisco Leal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of António Simões. Faceira FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Leal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 30th minute Sérgio Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Sérgio Tavares kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marco Garcia. That made the score 1-1 in the 32 minute of play. Sérgio Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Garcia having to interfere. 41 minutes into the game, Faceira FC's Júlio Sousa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marco Garcia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. António Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Leal, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Sérgio Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Marco Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

If Sérgio Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Rui Leiria took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for António Simões to make any attempt to save it. André Melo's late challenge caught a Faceira FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. André Melo helped the player get up and apologised. After 65 played minutes SC Papanata got a freekick which was hit by André Melo. In the 70thth minute of the game Sérgio Tavares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Papanata's Marco Garcia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Faceira FC fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when Faceira FC's Sérgio Tavares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Sérgio Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Júlio Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rui Leiria in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg António Simões saved Faceira FC from getting behind. Francisco Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Rui Leiria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Faceira FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SC Papanata for a fine match.
