With a left leg Afonso Vale saved SC Reguenga from getting behind. Eusébio Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Vale having to interfere. If Afonso Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusébio Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Esteves in the 21st minute of the match. The supporters of Marrancos FC booed when SC Reguenga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Matias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiago Gueifão kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 27thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Marrancos FC's keeper Eusébio Tavares was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Eusébio Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Esteves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 33 minutes of play, Marrancos FC's Eusébio Matos made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Afonso Vale was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 39 minutes, Júlio Gaspar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marrancos FC and the SC Reguenga players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th match minute, Marrancos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Gaspar to maneuver through the defense.
