Simão Viana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without António Marques having to make a save. In the 20th minute Simão Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. António Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Lima in the 21st minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Rosmaninhal FC's Amadeu Ramos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Sá narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Manuel Barbosa charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Gontariz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute, Jorge Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Gontariz's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeu Ramos came free, but Pedro Sá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simão Viana to make the kick off. After 61 played minutes Gontariz got a freekick which was hit by Simão Viana. In the 66th minute of the match Jacinto Mendes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedro Sá skillfully saved the ball. When Amadeu Ramos came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Rosmaninhal FC fans jumped to their feet.
